CAT 2022 – Know all about CAT EXAM –

CAT is the Common Admission Test for admission to MBA / PGDM programmes in Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other top MBA Institutes in India. lakhs of candidates appear in CAT every year to admission opportunity in MBA programmes offered by IIMs and other top B-schools.

Common Admission Test – CAT 2021 is the largest national level entrance test for MBA admission in IIMs and other top MBA Institutes in India. 

IIMs will offer admission on the basis of CAT exam score only and will not accept any other test score.  CAT is the gateway for one year MBA programmes in IIMs and other prominent management institutes.

With effect from 2012, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian institute of Science (IISC) have also started accepting CAT for admission to their Management programmes instead of JMET.

CAT Syllabus

Before exploring CAT Syllabus, we need to understand the pattern of the paper so that it would be simpler for us to understand the CAT syllabus. As CAT Exam body has not predefined CAT syllabus topic wise, ,our experts  have tried to define CAT Syllabus topic wise on the basis of  previous years CAT Exams.

The pattern for CAT exam has remained more or less same for the past 3 years – CAT 2015, CAT 2016, and CAT 2017. It is safe to assume that a similar, not exactly the same pattern may continue for CAT 2018 as well. Aspirants must visit the official website before consolidate anything new.

CAT Exam has three sections:

Section 1 – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (34 questions)

Section 2 – Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (32 questions)

Section 3 – Quantitative Aptitude (34 questions)

Now exploring section 1 – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

According to last few years exams, the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section has focused quite on Reading Comprehension. Out of 34, you can expect  20 to 25 questions from the Reading Comprehension. The other 10-15 questions would be from the Verbal Ability part.
